Abstract
The fundamental ideas and uses of voltammetric
electronic tongues are covered in this overview. After introducing the idea of
taste sensors, also referred to as electronic tongues, a quick synopsis of the
fundamentals of electrochemical measurement is given with regard to electronic
tongues. Particular attention is paid to the voltammetric electronic tongue
measurement techniques, such as variable reduction and pulse voltammetry.
Applications of voltammetric electronic tongue in agriculture, paper and pulp,
home appliances, environmental analysis, and the food industry are discussed.
Future iterations of the idea, including compressed devices or self-polishing
devices, are also described. The last example is a commercially available
continuous chemical oxygen demand (COD) monitoring device.
