The work is about oxidative rearrangement of olefins using a hypervalent λ3-iodine complex. Aryl and alkyl substituted olefins reacts with iodobenzene bortrifluorid diethyl etherate complex, which is subordinated as the hypervalent λ³-iodan complexes, to the corresponding aldehyde and/or ketones up to good yields. A mechanism for the rearrangement reaction was proposed.
